Brown rice is the healthy alternative for white rice…try this simple recipe with blackgram and red pepper.

Brown rice – 1 1/2 cup
Blackgram – 1/4 cup (blakgram with its skin)
Red pepper – 1 (chopped)
Salt and pepper to taste
1) In a rice cooker- add rice, dal and chopped pepper. Add water according to your style of desired consistency of rice.
2) Add salt and pepper to rice after it is cooked; mix thoroughly.
Enjoy the rice… I am sure addind a dab of ghee will elevate the flavor but then the whole purpose of ‘healthy’ option will be nullified. I leave that to your taste buds to decide.
