Capsicum Besan Sabji

Cooking time: 20-25 mins

Prep time: 10 mins


Capsicum – 1  (diced)

Onion – 1/2 (chopped)

Green chillies – 2 (finely chopped)

Besan – 2 table spoons 

Red chili powder – 1/2 table spoon

Salt to taste

Oil – 2 table spoons

Seasoning- Heeng – 1 pinch; mustard seeds – 1/4 table spoon; urad dal- 1/4 table spoon; chana dal – 1/4 table spoon; turmeric powder – 1 pinch

Besan – Dry fry the besan powder on low heat (make sure its color doesn’t change)


1) In a pan- add oil and seasoning; let them pop. 

2) Add chopped onions and fry them for about 4 mins; to this add chopped capsicum. 

3) Lower the flame, add 5 teaspoons of water , cover the pan with a lid and let them cook for 7 mins.

4) Add salt to taste, green chillies, red chili powder, and besan- mix thoroughly. 

Best when served with rice and ghee 🙂 Enjoy…
