Tofu Sabji

Tofu is the soya version of paneer. Its as yummy as paneer. 

Cooking time: 20 mins

Prep time: 10 mins


Tofu – 1 cup

Tomato – 1 1/2 cup (diced)

Onion – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)

Green peas – 1 cup (boiled)

Green chillies – 3 (finely chopped)

Peanut powder – 2 table spoons (dry- fry peanuts and grind into fine powder)

Oil – 2 tea spoons

Red chili powder – 1/2 table spoon

Turmeric powder – 1 pinch

Salt to taste


Jeera – One pinch; heeng – 2 pinches


1) In a heated pan- add oil, jeera and heeng; wait till it pops. 

2) Add onions, turmeric powder and fry till golden yellow. To this add tomatoes and let them cook till 3 mins. 

3) To this add tofu and green peas. Lower the heat to a medium and let it cook for 5 mins. 

4) Add green chillies, peanut powder, red chilli powder, and salt to taste – mix well. 

Tofu sabji is ready to eat. Best when served with rice or chapati.
