Fenugreek is one of the healthiest seasonings in the Indian kitchen. It has many health benefits! Try fenugreek buttermilk, it takes a few minutes to make.
** Fenugreek buttermilk**
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 5 mins
Ingredients:
Buttermilk (unsalted) – 2 cups
Green chillies – 3 (finely chopped)
Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
Salt to tase
Coriander to garnish
For seasoning:
Cumin (jeera) – 1/2 table spoon
Fenugreek – 1 table spoon
Mustard – 1/2 table spoon
Carom (ajwain) – 2 pinches
Dried red chillies – 2
Oil – 2 table spoons
Recipe:
1) In a bowl, add buttermilk, chopped green chillies, a pinch of turmeric, and salt to taste. Mix thoroughly.
2) For seasoning ~ In a heated skillet add oil, cumin, fenugreek, mustard, carom and dried red chillies. Let them pop.
3) Add the seasoning to buttermilk and garnish with coriander.
Fenugreek buttermilk is ready to eat. Best when served with Upma!
