Besan Laddu

Happy Choti Diwali! The pleasures of indulging in sweet eating during Diwali time is unmeasurable! 

** Besan laddu**

Preparation time: 15 mins

Cooking time: 10- 15 mins 


Besan (chick pea flour) – 2 cups

Sugar (white or brown) – 1 cup 

Cardamom – 15 pods

Ghee – 4 table spoons 


1) In a skillet, melt 3 table spoons of ghee. Add besan and lower the heat to medium. Stir the besan continuously to avoid burning it.     Once the color changes to dark yellow or light brown, turn off the heat and let the besan sit (do not cool it to room temperature). 

2) In a blender, add sugar and cardamom pods; grind them into fine powder. 

3) Add sugar+cardamom powder into besan and mix thoroughly (please make sure that besan is warm enough to make laddus).

4) Add 1 table spoon of ghee and start making laddus. If the laddus are breaking, add melted ghee accordingly to get them into shape.
