Spicy Chole (Chick pea)

Chole has been my childhood favorite; you can pair it with rice, poori, roti’s or parathas!

** Spicy chole **

Cooking time – 25 mins

Preparation time – 15 mins


Chole (chick pea) boiled – 250 ounces

Potatoes (chopped) – 1 large

Onions (chopped) – 1 large

Tomatoes (chopped) – 2

Ginger paste – 1/2 tea spoon

Green chillies – 4/5 ( spice is directly proportional to your spice buds 🙂 )

Godha masala (available in grocery stores) – 1 table spoon

Salt to taste

Coriander to garnish

Oil – 2 table spoons


1) Heat the skillet with oil and add the chopped onions. Fry the onions till golden yellow and add tomatoes. Cover the skillet with its lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.

2) Add the godha masala, green chillies, ginger paste, and potatoes. Add 5 table spoons of water and let it cook for 7 minutes.

3) Add the chole and salt to tatse; Mix thoroughly and let it cook for 6 minutes.  Garnish with coriander.

Yummy spicy chole is ready to eat!
