Green Peas Tawa Pulav

This recipe works well for parties; its simple to make and tastes delicious! If you have left over rice from lunch… Green peas tawa pulav comes to your rescue!

** Green peas tawa pulav **

Cooking time : 15 mins

Preparation time: 10 mins


Cooked rice – 2 cups ( Each cup = 250 ounces)

Green peas – 1 cup (boiled; 1 cup = 250 ounces)

Dhaniya powder – 1/2 table spoon

Jeera powder – 1/2 table spoon

Red chilli powder – 1 table spoon

Salt to taste

For seasoning:

Oil – 2 tablespoons

Mustard seeds – 1 table spoon

Dried red chillies – 2/3 (depending on your spice tolerance)


1) In an electric rice cooker, cook rice.

2) In a heated tawa (pan) add two table spoons of oil, mustard seeds, and dried red chillies; let them pop. Now add the boiled green peas and lower the flame to medium.

3) After 3 minutes add the cooked rice and cover taws (pan) with its lid for 7 minutes.

4) Add dhaniya, jeera and red chilli powder, salt to taste; mix thoroughly.

Green peas tawa pulav is ready to eat!
