Avocado Chutney

 Yes, you heard it right- Avocado chutney . Most of us have eaten avocado  in salads and guacamole dip- but try the chutney its healthy and delicious. 

**Avocado chutney**

Cooking time: 15 mins 

Preparation time: 15 mins

Ingredients:

Avocado – 1 

Coriander – 1 bunch (washed thoroughly in water, and cut off the ends)

Green chillies – 4 to 5 (depending on your spice levels)

Salt to taste

For seasoning: 

Oil – 1 tablespoon

Mustard seeds – 1 tablespoon

Chana daal ( Dried Lentils) – 1 Tablespoon 

Dried red chilles – 2 

Directions to cut avocado:

  • Grip the avocado gently on one side with one hand. With a large, sharp knife in the other hand, cut the avocado lengthwise around the seed. Open the two halves to expose the pit. Now use a spoon to scoop out the pit.

Recipe: 

1) Add the avocado, coriander, and green chillies in a blender. Blend them into a thick paste. 

2) Add two tablespoons of water and salt to taste and mix the paste thoroughly. 

3) For seasoning:  Heat the pan with 1 table spoon of oil. Add the mustard seeds, chana dal (1 tablespoon each), and red chillies- let them pop. Add the seasoning to the chutney. 

The chutney is ready!! Yummy.. Best when served with dosa or kulcha.
