Ravva Laddo

Festivals in India are feast-ive! We truly enjoy the enriching cultural heritage that comes with each festival.

From the vibrant colors, to the sensational and sugary variety of foods – I love it all! On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, I made Ravva Laddo to offer to my cute Ganapati Bappa!  Here is a simple recipe to make laddos.

** Ravva Laddo **

Cooking time: 15 mins

Preparation time: 30 mins

Sooji (fine or coarse)  – 3 cups

Sugar (brown) – 1 1/4 cup

Coconut (finely grated) – 1/2 cup

Cardamom powder – 2 tablespoons

Dry fruits – Badam, pista, raisins

Ghee (as required)

Milk  (as required) – 4 tablespoons

1) Heat the pan; fry the sooji till the color changes to golden brown. Let the sooji cool to room temperature.

2) In a grinder – blend sugar, badam, and pista into fine powder.

3) Fry raisins in ghee and set aside.

4) In a mixing bowl (or a baking tray) add the sooji, powdered sugar, badam and pista, coconut, raisins, cardamom powder and mix well.  Add a few tablespoons of milk and start making the laddos.

Ravva Laddo is ready!
